Fun: Tambayan Bar and Restaurant

Since its Friday (and still no salary), I don’t have plans on going out. A couch potato. But around 3pm, one of my flat mates came to our room and said he was hungry and asking for a Halo-halo. It’s too hot outside (around 40degrees) and we are lazy to get up from our bed. Afterwards, we had a little talk about foods and where will have our dinner. Almost every Friday, we have our dinner outside. So we’ve decided to go to Chillis for a change. And since many of us still haven’t received our salary, one of our flat mates is willing to take charge for the bill.

We left the building around 6pm and since it’s too early for a dinner, we strolled inside Abu Dhabi Mall for a window shopping. Waaahh there are so many SALE items!! But I’m disciplined enough not to buy and I stick to my goals and priorities, head’s up!

It’s already 8pm when we headed to Chillis. While we were still outside of the restaurant we’ve decided to contact our other flat mates so we can pay more little for our shares hehehe and also to serve as a bonding.

But in an instant, Tambayan Bar and Restaurant was the new location. It is only a few blocks away from Chillis, so why not? It’s also my first time to go out in a bar. Yipppeeee! Quite excited and sooo hungry we walked for about 15 minutes to reached Al Ain Palace. Tambayan Bar and Restaurant is inside of a hotel, so cool!

me, ate lou and ate cris

When we got inside, it feels like we are in Malate. We were in nostalgic mode because the design was Filipino inspired. There is a pedicab, a graffiti some of the places in Manila like Tondo and Pasay, LCD monitors hanging on the wall for videoke, a small stage for the live band and also the food (they offer Filipino foods like sinigang and sisig). And one thing, almost kabayans were the customers. :) Oh the downside is we were not allowed taking pictures inside the bar but we used IPHONE as our camera. The ladies on the other hand (yeah we are camwhores!), took pictures inside the comfort room. :P

at the cr :))

The live band was sooo good. They have 1 male vocalist with keyboard and lead guitar, 1 gay comedian and also a singer, and 3 female vocalists. They are also Filipino. I had so much fun because aside from their singing, their gay member acted like Vice Ganda or Tsokoleyt. Their set started 9pm for 5 to 6 songs (I think) and play the videoke during their break. They had 4 sets until 3am.

secretly taking of pictures using iphone hehehe

my gang! others are still inside dancing! :D

Some of us decided to go home around 2am because we still have work that day hehehe. We came around 230am and prepared myself for a 3-hour sleep.

At the office, I was sleepy head. Good thing, my boss was not around so I just watched One Tree Hill to cheer me up. :)

Looking forward to experience like this again.

After a seventh season that saw "One Tree Hill" continue to grow and break new ground, the show enters season eight with more than 150 episodes under its belt. The new season finds Brooke Davis happier than ever. Recently engaged to Julian, her wedding will be the captivating affair one might expect from a young, beautiful, successful fashion designer. As Nathan Scott prepares for his second season in the NBA, the Scott family is expecting their second child and Haley feels as though the baby will be a girl. How will she balance her pregnancy while raising Jamie and pursuing her music career? Also, Quinn and Clay's lives hang in the balance, the victims of a brutal attack which affects all of their friends and family. Cosmetics: MAC to Collaborate With Disney?

It has just been announced that MAC Cosmetics will be teaming up with Disney to create four fabulous limited edition colors which will feature four of Disney’s famous villains. This is the second time MAC has collaborated with Disney and the limited edition collection is dubbed as “Venomous Villains.”

But don’t sprint to your MAC store just yet! The collection is set to appear in MAC stores worldwide in September of 2010. Also coming out in September of this year (hopefully, cross your fingers) is MAC for McQueen which is again a limited edition collection collaborated with MAC and Alexander McQueen who passed away earlier this year. The collection is set to to feature a whopping 16-piece collection which I am extremely excited about!

Either way, at least we’ll have something to look forward to in September when we say goodbye to summer.

I say:

PROS:

1. Has a cute packaging.

2. It is compact that you can bring it anywhere.

3. Very light on the skin "but takes time for the fully absorption"<-- CON!

4. Has a good smell.

5. Has a light consistency but "became greasy / heavy when applied."<--CON!

6. Can buy on leading groceries and pharmacies.

CONS:

1. It made me break out! Not suitable for sensitive skin.

2. Need time to fully absorb by the skin.

3. Leave a white cast and greasy when applied.

4. Quite expensive. I bought this for AED40.

This product is not meant for me so ladies, can you recommend me a sunblock with a high spf and for sensitive skin? I’m begging you!!

Cheers,

zynchi :)

Skin Care: How do I get rid of my dark spots / scars?

Way back 2004, my skin was definitely flawless (my body I mean), but when we got home from Puerto Galera in Mindoro, my skin problem has begun. (I’ll make a blog about my “unknown allergy” separately.)

Of course, when my allergy strikes, it will leave a mark. Bad dark spots. I looked like I had a chicken pox, seriously. I thank God that when my allergy was severe 3yrs ago, I tend to lighten them as if I have no skin problem. Yipeee!

Kojie-san helped me on this. Many of us (especially in the Philippines) are crazy about this product. But not all had a good result. Some got irritated and switch to other products. Kojie-san has an ingredient called Kojic acid which helps to lighten scars and to make your skin lighter. Feel free to visit their site for more details.

Kojie-san soap is quite harsh on the skin. That’s why I don’t use it all the time. I substitute it to a milder soap like Dove or J&J. It’s like, one week for Kojie-san and 1 week on Dove. This is to make my skin recover for the harsh ingredients that Kojie-san gave. I take a shower twice a day. I use it with a sponge for scrubbing especially on my dark spots. After bath it will leave your skin dry (sometimes my skin peels), so I use body oil (Avon Planet Spa) for moisturizing. After a while, I use the Kojie-san lightening lotion. Since it is harsh on the skin, I make sure that my rashes have been dried out before using the soap to avoid irritation.

Using these products won’t give you a result in just a snap. I have a simple routine but it was very effective in reducing scars like mine. But ladies, if you see any irritation upon using these products then stop and look for the other choice.

Actually there are a lot of good products in lightening scars. It’s just that I stick to Kojie-san not only it has a good price but it is also available in leading groceries and pharmacies. But now that I am in UAE, I am considering the Crème 21 products as its substitute for lightening my scars. I heard a lot of good comments and I want to give it a try.

Hope this helps. (^o^)

Movie: The Human Centipede (2009)

The THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE is the lousiest movie I ever seen! The story is an insult to human kind.

Not recommended especially to those faint-hearted.
